Mylohyoid Bridging of the Mandible and its Clinical Importance in Dry Mandibles: A Cross-sectional Study

Introduction: Mylohyoid Bridging (MB) is a hyperostotic variation in the mandible. On inner aspect of ramus mandible, Groove (MG) observed. The content this groove mylohyoid nerve and vessels. bridging can compress these neurovascular structures. Aim: To determine incidence to determine, whether it complete/incomplete or proximal/distal unilateral/bilateral. Materials Methods: present cross-sectional study was conducted Department Anatomy, School Medical Sciences Research, Sharda University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, July 2022. on 60 dried human mandibles (120 sides). were collected from Anatomy. observed for presence bridge its both sides. Results expressed using descriptive statistics terms frequency percentage. Results: three out 120 (2.5%) grooves. All bridges incomplete types (one each proximal type, intermediate distal type). In one triangular bony spicule noted at end groove, close approximation mandibular foramen right-side, whereas very deep, communication between canal noted. Conclusion: Knowledge regarding will help successful administration inferior alveolar block.
